How can we raise our vibrational energy?

With a whirlwind year like 2020, it’s easy to imagine that the majority of us are looking for a reset on our mind and body health. While the pandemic, and the lockdown following, allowed most of us the space and time to rearrange our priorities and focus more on our mental and physical health, there are still residual effects from this past year lingering and obstructing us from fully moving on.

Some of these instances might be out of our hands when it comes to being able to fully remove them. Maybe you’re dealing with loneliness from not being able to visit friends and family who don’t live in your immediate area, or perhaps you’re struggling financially because of reduced hours or a lost job. We understand that everyone dealt with this pandemic in very different ways, but one thing we can all equally benefit from now is the ability to focus our attention inwards once again.

When we make an effort to go within ourselves, we can find a deeper understanding of the ways we respond to outward conflict, and how it affects not only our individual state of being, but that of those around us, as well as our environment. Many studies have been done regarding the effect that our thoughts have on our mind and body-- specifically the vibrations that our body creates depending on the emotion that we’re feeling. This study is known as “Vibrational Energy” and is found in the field of Vibrational Medicine, also known as Energy Medicine.

What is Vibration?

Everything has vibration. You, me, your friend, your pet, the trees outside, and even all of the material items surrounding you. All of these “things” have their own vibrations that they emit, and these vibrations affect our own, which in turn affect how we feel. Vibrational energy experts have found that certain emotions and thought patterns (such as happiness, joy, and gratitude) create high frequency vibrations, while other emotions (such as anger, fear, and jealousy) vibrate at a lower level. We are all made up of different levels: physical, emotional, mental, and even spiritual. Each level contains its own vibrational frequency, which makes up our overall vibration and energy that we give off.

“As you think, you vibrate. As you vibrate, you attract” - Abraham Hicks

You might’ve heard of the Law of Attraction, which states that whatever you offer out into the world will return back to you. This essentially states that you are the creator and manifestor of your life, and that you can initiate change according to how you direct your thoughts and emotions.

It’s important to note that, while you are in charge of your own emotions and thoughts, your surroundings can have a profound impact on them as well. The saying, “You are the company that you keep” is an excellent example of this. It has been found that when two vibrating entities come together, whether they’re on the same wavelength or not, after a while they will often start to vibrate at the same frequency. If you find yourself feeling bogged down by certain people or certain places, it very well could be that they are emitting a lower vibration. Make changes accordingly.

How can we change our frequency?

Our Vibrational Energy can be heightened in a variety of different ways, such as:

  1. Breathwork: The use of conscious breathing in various patterns in order to influence a persons’ mental, emotional, and physical state. Read more about this practice here

  2. Meditation: Whether daily or as needed, taking the time to sit with ourselves and focus inward can have a profound effect on our mental health, and therefore our vibration.

  3. Gratitude: Showing gratitude for even the smallest, simplest of things can raise our vibration.

  4. Diet: Being mindful of what you are ingesting and making sure that you are including unprocessed, healthy ingredients into your daily meals. (Restriction isn’t the goal here!)

  5. Nature: Or “Outdoor Immersion”. Making time to go outside and be exposed to natural sound waves, light waves, and green spaces have all been proven to benefit us.

  6. Yoga: For those of you who struggle with traditional seated meditation, yoga is a wonderful alternative. “Meditation through movement”. This helps to release tension and stagnant energy, therefore allowing the body to release the bad stuff and receive more of the good stuff.

  7. Practice kindness: Give without expecting anything in return, be kind even when faced with a difficult person or situation, search for the good in others. Remember that what you give out comes right back to you.

  8. Mindfulness: Being mindful of the purpose of each thought, word, and action has an immense amount of power on your vibrational energy and those around you. The words we speak and think become our reality.

Low Vibrational Energy

Finding balance in life is key to achieving a harmonious lifestyle. It is unrealistic to think that high vibrations and looking on the bright side can be achieved at all times. Occasionally you’ll experience those low frequency emotions, and that’s okay. These are healthy and often serve the purpose of teaching us an important life lesson. After all, without the bad, we would not know the good.

But it is equally as important to recognize that these thoughts and emotions do not need to have a full-time role in our minds. Allow them to come into your mind, sit with them, and then release them.

Warmly,
